Asset profiles

Updated 22 November 2025 · 1 min read

Profiles are the Qhub way of organising assets into types. This helps to keep your assets organise, and makes it easier to apply different rules, tasks, or schedules to groups of similar assets.

Profile examples

  • Forklifts

  • Drills

  • Pressure gauge

  • Go-nogo gauges

  • Specific Machines

Each profile will also have the ability to add asset fields. This will help the user to add additional information to the asset. For example, if the asset profile was: Vehicles. Then the fields may be; make, model, reg. so each vehicle will have to record those 3 details.

When to use different profile?

  • If the profiles have different fields, so have more unique characteristics.

  • If the profiles have very different management tasks and activities.

  • If the profiles have mostly the same management tasks with the exception of some assets not needing certain tasks, this should be one profile and then you can unselect certain assets from needed management tasks.
