Asset groups

How asset groups work

This is a feature to help organise assets manage access. Groups should be used to categorise assets to help make accessing them easier. For example groups might be;

  • Engineering

  • H&S

  • Quality

  • Inspection

  • Tooling

  • Construction

We can then assign access using the user or user-group feature. So only certain people see assets in specific groups.

Using asset groups to manage access

Once asset groups have been created, we can use these locations to control access to the assets that are connected to the locations.

In the asset hub, open the asset settings page found in the bottom left corner.

1. Click on one of your Asset groups

2. Connect groups or portals to the group.

Once you have connected the asset groups to your user groups, when they navigate to asset hub, or access the asset hub through the portal, they will only see the assets that they have access too.
