KPI Hub - Create a Generic KPI from a Register

From the menu in the top left hand corner, select KPI Hub to add a new KPI. Click the plus button and select a new KPI. This one I'll show you five different options, but for this video we're going to create a generic KPI.

First of all, we can input our title. Next, select the Hub where the data is found to be able to create your KPI. For this one we'll choose a Register. Select the Register you wish to use, then it will ask you to select the column to draw the data from.

We can then select the KPI type. We have a pie chart, a bar chart, a line chart, or we can simply choose to display the information as a number. As you can see in the top right hand corner, it shows us a preview of how the KPI will look. Let's go with bar chart for this example.

It now asks us above to choose our base value. So it's asking us to choose what the data should be grouped by along the X axis. We can select row created date, the date column in the Register if there is one set up, or another column from the Register. We'll select row created date.

It gives us the option to change the bar chart type to show the data as grouped or stacked. To display a target line, toggle this on and input what you would like your target number to be. This is now shown by the purple line on the graph.

You can give the X and Y axis a label if you wish to. It then asks if there is no data, how would you like the KPI to be displayed? You can select from count as zeros or display a no data label.

Along the bottom, it gives you the option to filter the data by a specific time frame or by a particular field from the Register.

Once you're done, press save in the bottom right hand corner. To see your new KPI, select My KPIs from the left hand side menu, scroll down, and you'll see our new KPI is now part of this dashboard.
